The power of Worship
If i be lifted up from the earth, i will draw all men unto myself (John 12:32).
It is the will of God for all men to know Him and for none to perish. And Christ has given us the great commission to go into the world and make disciple of all nations. He does not only want us to go into the world, but He also wants us to start where we are, at home, with those who are closest to us, in our own Jerusalem. As much as we may want to fulfill this assignment and see those close to us and nations turn to Christ, we most recognize that it is not the easiest task to accomplish without the keys given to us by God. This is mainly because we are dealing with the hearts and minds of people from different backgrounds, culture, tradition and religion. We as people are limited in our power to penetrate and capture a heart like God can. So at all times we must depend and rely on His power.
In the bible we see how the glory or presence of God came and filled the temple as the people worshipped (2 chronicles 5:12-14). If God filled that man made temple, how much more will the glory or presence of God fill us His chosen temples when we worship. How much more will our lives be filled with the glory and power of God. When we have a lifestyle of worship, we become carriers of the glory and power of God.
John 12:32 is speaking of the death of Christ, but as i meditated on it, i saw the Lord communicating a powerful key and promise to us. What i hear is, If the earth would worship me, if you exalt me amongst in heathen, if you lift up my name, make me the center of it all, in songs and in words, if i am exalted in your gatherings, at home or where ever you are, in your conversations or during evangelism, you won't have to pull the people, but i will draw all men to myself. I will draw them to your meetings.
Worship invites God in the scene and through worship the hearts of men are open and drawn towards God. Worship brings us closer to God. And as His spirit moves, the ancient gates begin to break, prisoners are released from chains and many are won for Him (Acts 16:25-35).
God longs for the worship of all people. If we make our meeting places a place of worship, the glory of God will be released and God will be moved to draw the people to that place and it will grow.
